ln a stressful world that can sometimes seem upside down, nature is the primordial source for balance, restoration and stress management. Over a thousand studies indicate the ability of nature to improve mental health. But how can we take our experiences on the water and in the outdoors back to our lives at home and work INDOORS? Fish for Wellness is dedicated to providing the tools that, combined with fly fishing in pristine environments, help us to navigate turbulent waters at home and in the office with greater awareness. Join us and see how rivers and fly fishing offer a unique opportunity for awareness to improve our lives.
FFW creates and facilitates fly fishing wellness retreats for executives and the general public. All our programs, whether rafting excursions, lodge-based trips, or glamping adventures are created with our vetted partners (including self-help gurus, best-selling authors, sought-after life coaches, meditation experts and experienced outfitters) go way beyond the average fly fishing trip or nature retreat. In addition to some of the best fly fishing locales and guides in the world, we incorporate practices like writing (morning pages), meditation techniques, yoga and facilitated sharing to help us get back to center, whether on the river or back home. When we fish for wellness we catch and release a lot more than just trout!
Our founder, John Dietsch, is a master fly-fisherman and teacher who helps his clients and students follow their passion by connecting with nature. John's second book, "Graced by Waters: Personal Essays on Fly Fishing and the Transformative Power of Nature" explores how fly fishing can boil down life's most complex problems into the simplest of truths. John is committed to helping accomplished anglers and never-ever beginners alike to look inward using the sport and waters as a powerful conduit for stress reduction, inward reflection and change.
